Mercedes McGee, who runs the popular blog With Love, Mercedes, is a true believer in home. And you can tell from her blog that she actively builds spaces that inspire comfort and provide a perfect backdrop for raising a family and making memories. Recently, Mercedes decided that a herringbone brick porch would be the perfect addition to other exterior home updates, including limewashing the original brick.

“I wanted to add more depth and texture after the limewashing, so I came up with the idea of adding this little porch. It does exactly what I want it to do, which is bring in some warmth and character, and it also makes our front entry feel a lot more intentional”, she says.

Mercedes used our Brickwebb sheets to ensure installation was easy and that the lines of the Herringbone pattern were perfect.

When it was grout time, she decided to do a light German Schmear to get the style she wanted. She has a killer tutorial on this treatment that she used on Old Mill Brick installed on her fireplace. Check it out!
